What this Flipkart commission calculator does
A sale on Flipkart is not the same as money in your account. Flipkart takes a commission, a fixed fee per order, a collection fee for handling payment and a shipping fee that depends on weight and distance. It then adds 18% GST on all of those fees and deducts GST TCS and income-tax TDS. This Flipkart commission calculator puts every one of those lines in a single breakdown, then subtracts your product cost and ad spend to show your profit and margin per unit.
It also finds your break-even selling price, so you know how low you can go in a Big Billion Days sale or a price war without losing money on each order.
Flipkart’s rate card varies by category, price band and seller tier, and it changes during the year. Every fee in the tool is editable, and the defaults are only approximate. Always confirm your current rates in Flipkart Seller Hub.
How to use the calculator
- Enter the selling price the buyer pays, including GST.
- Enter your product cost per unit, including packaging. Leave GST out if you claim input credit on purchases.
- Choose the GST rate for your product. Since 22 September 2025 most goods fall in the 5% or 18% slab; a few items sit at 0%, 3%, 40% or other notified rates.
- Pick a category preset or type your exact commission percentage from the rate card.
- Check the fixed fee. The tool suggests one for your price band; your seller tier may make it lower or higher.
- Select the payment mode. COD orders usually carry a higher collection fee than prepaid orders.
- Select the shipping zone (local, zonal or national) and adjust the shipping fee for your packed weight.
- Add ad spend per unit if you run Flipkart Ads, and tick zero commission only if your category is eligible.
Results update as you type, and “Copy summary” gives you a clean text version for your pricing sheet.
How the numbers are worked out
- Commission = selling price × commission %.
- Collection fee = selling price × collection %.
- Total Flipkart fees = commission + fixed fee + collection fee + shipping fee + any other fees.
- GST on fees = 18% of total fees. If you claim input tax credit, it is deducted from settlement but returned to you as credit.
- TCS = 0.5% of the price without GST and TDS = 0.1%. Both are credited back when you file.
- Profit = price without GST − Flipkart fees − product cost − ad spend (− GST on fees if you cannot claim credit).
Worked examples for Indian sellers
A ₹1,299 skincare combo, prepaid, zonal delivery
A beauty brand sells a combo at ₹1,299 with 18% GST. At an approximate 10% commission, a ₹50 fixed fee, a 2% collection fee and ₹55 shipping, Flipkart’s fees come to about ₹261, plus roughly ₹47 GST that the seller claims back. The taxable value is about ₹1,101. With a ₹450 product cost, profit is roughly ₹390 per unit before ads. Add ₹80 per unit in Flipkart Ads and it falls to about ₹310.
The same combo as a COD order shipped nationally
Switch payment to COD and zone to national, and the collection and shipping fees rise. Profit drops by roughly ₹30 per order with the defaults. If a large share of your orders are COD and many are national, plan for that in your price or offer a small prepaid discount.
A ₹699 pet accessory that may qualify for zero commission
Flipkart has run zero-commission programmes for some lower-priced products. If your category qualifies, tick the zero-commission option and the commission line disappears. On a ₹699 product with 18% GST that can mean around ₹70 more per unit. If you are not sure you qualify, leave it unticked so you do not overestimate profit.
Tips and common mistakes
- Using actual weight only. Shipping is charged on the higher of actual and volumetric weight. Measure your packed carton.
- Ignoring returns and RTO. Returned and undelivered orders cost you reverse shipping and packaging. Add an allowance to cost per unit.
- Forgetting the seller tier. Fixed fees and some benefits change with your tier, so your real fee may differ from the default.
- Mixing up TCS with a fee. TCS is your own tax money held for a while. File your GST returns on time to claim it.
- Copying Amazon pricing. Fee structures differ. Run the same product through this tool and our Amazon fee calculator before you set one price everywhere.
FAQs
Are these Flipkart fees exact?
No. The defaults are approximate figures from public seller resources as of October 2026. Commission, fixed fee and shipping depend on your category, price band, weight, zone and seller tier. Check your rate card in Flipkart Seller Hub and enter the exact figures.
What is the Flipkart collection fee?
It is a charge for collecting payment from the buyer, worked out as a percentage of the order value. It is usually higher for cash on delivery than for prepaid orders. The tool fills in an approximate rate when you change the payment mode, and you can edit it.
What do local, zonal and national mean?
They describe how far the order travels. Local is within the same city, zonal is within the same region, and national is across regions. Longer distances usually mean higher shipping fees.
Is GST charged on Flipkart’s commission and fees?
Yes, 18% GST applies to Flipkart’s fees. GST-registered sellers can normally claim it as input tax credit, so it reduces the payout but not true profit. If you cannot claim it, untick the input credit option in tax settings.
How is break-even price calculated?
The tool tests prices until profit per unit reaches zero with your current costs, fee percentages and settings. If you have not edited the fixed fee, it uses the suggested fixed fee for each price band as it searches.
